Dicky Bag Real World Testing - 6 Month Review

"What is a Dicky Bag?" I hear you ask.

The Dicky Bag is an award winning stylish neoprene bag that’s lightweight, airtight, washable and leak proof which can be attached to you or your dog and stores those nasty knotted plastic bags until you find a suitable bin. The Dicky Bag comes in a range of colours and a range of sizes, at Hills & Hounds we stock 4 colours of the Dicky Bag (Black Dot, Red Dot, Orange Dot & Midnight Blue), all in Small, Medium & Large. Your Dicky Bag will come with a super air freshener and you can buy replacement air fresheners when yours starts to fade (although we haven't had to change ours yet).

We've been using the Dicky Bag ourselves since we began stocking them (Like many of the products we stock!) and we're super impressed in the Dicky Bag. We went for the Midnight Blue Dicky Bag in Medium.

We have a Border Terrier and a Working Cocker Spaniel and have used the Dicky Bags in a range of situations from short riverside strolls to multi-day adventures in the Lakeland fells. Pre-Dicky Bag life was one where we would be very aware of the wind direction throughout a walk, however this is now a distant memory.

The Dicky Bag comes with both a velcro loop and a small carabiner to attach easily to a belt loop, rucksack, tent or dog! We've found that leaving it hanging on a rucksack is usually the best way to carry and once it's zipped up any smelly bags inside are completely sealed away and are unnoticeable. There's also a useful pocket in the lid to store unused poo bags.

When deciding on what size to get, the main things to consider are firstly how big is your dog (the real question is how big is your dogs business), and how long are you going to carry it between bins. We find that for a normal days walk the medium Dicky Bag is perfect for our two dogs and for a 2 day trek without bins (wild camping) it is just the right size for our Cocker Spaniel.

The Dicky Bag has been very durable and has no signs of wear, the zip is sturdy and the material is strong, it certainly looks like it will last a very long time! 

After 6 months of testing we really like the Dicky Bag, so much so that several of our family members and friends now also own one after many evenings round a fire proclaiming our new favourite product!
